Send emailPicser is free to download, and browsing is free: opening images and folders, zooming, the three thumbnail layouts, Quick Preview, temporary rotate and mirror, deleting images, and more. Exporting, cropping, EXIF, slideshows, tags, and Pick / Reject marks require Pro. Pro comes as a yearly subscription with a 7-day free trial or a lifetime license. Both include the same features and are purchased in the app.
Picser requires macOS 14.6 or later and is available only on the Mac App Store.
Picser currently supports JPEG, PNG, GIF, HEIC, HEIF, TIFF, WebP, AVIF, JPEG XL, and SVG. When you open a folder, only images in these formats are listed.
Not yet. RAW support is planned, but there is no release date yet.
No. Picser opens images right where they are in their folders, with no library and no copies. Tags and Pick / Reject marks are stored in Picser's own data on your Mac and are never written into the image files.
English, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese. Picser follows your system language by default, and you can switch languages in settings.
Picser is a sandboxed macOS app. When you open folders, open images from Finder, scan subfolders, or load images from the same directory, macOS may ask you to grant access to that folder. Picser uses that access only for the local images and folders you choose.
Deleting the current image is available in the free version. Depending on your settings, Picser shows a confirmation first, then moves the image to Trash or permanently deletes it. If macOS blocks access, Picser guides you to grant permission again. To delete several images at once, select them and delete the selection.
Pro users can export copies as JPEG, PNG, HEIC, or TIFF. Overwriting the original works only for JPEG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF, and still GIF files; SVG, animated images, and formats such as WebP, AVIF, and JPEG XL can only be exported as copies.
Use Restore Purchases in Picser settings or from the upgrade prompt. Purchases and restores are handled by the App Store. If Pro is still locked after restoring, try Refresh Receipt and confirm that you are signed in with the Apple ID used for the purchase.
In cache management inside settings, you can view cache size, clear the disk metadata cache, open the cache folder, and clear saved folder permissions. Clearing cache does not delete your original images.
No. Tags, filters, colors, and image associations are stored only on your Mac. Before uninstalling the app or deleting local data, decide whether you need your own backup.
